The North East Catchment Management Authority is developing a Regional Waterway Strategy. As part of this the CMA has been undertaking Catchment Conversations to identify community views on their waterways. Further opportunities will be coming up in the near future - watch this space.read more

The North East Catchment Management Authority has conducted a review of the 2006 North East Regional River Health Strategy in 2013. This review incorporated feedback and ideas received from community members, NECMA staff and agency partners. The review is ongoing until completion of the strategy.read more

Throughout 2013 we’ve held ‘Catchment Conversations’ in the Upper Murray, Omeo area and in locations across the Ovens, King, Upper Murray and Kiewa basins to encourage community involvement in the review of the Regional Waterways Strategy.

On 16 September 2013 representatives from the local community, industry and natural resource management agencies attended a workshop in Beechworth that focussed on this question: "How can we most effectively manage the waterways in our region over the next eight years ?"read more

Through this process, we are seeking to better understand what people in our region value about local waterways and how they would like them to look in 20 years time. We will use this feedback to develop 20 year management goals for our Regional Waterway Strategy.read more
